Switch to Natural Dry Shampoo

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted one of these, hasn’t it? But when I quit posting Better Beauty Swaps way back in October of last autumn, I promised myself I wouldn’t post them again until I had some of my own photos to contribute.

And so here we are with a dry shampoo swap! These two products are comparable in price, size, scent and performance. There are both a light coloured powdered dry shampoo, with one big exception: the Bumble and bumble version is loaded with toxins!

Switch Bumble and Bumble

Bumble & Bumble Dry Shampoo

Bumble and bumble is one of those hair care mainstays at Sephora, with tons of people swearing by the performance of their products. However, their pret-a-powder dry shampoo, like most of their products, scores a 9 out of 10 on Think Dirty. This is due to the inclusion of ingredients such as the mysterious ‘fragrance’, Hexyl Cinnamal, and Butylphenyl Methylpropional which can be sensitizing and worse.

For One Love Organics

One Love Organics Dry Shampoo

The One Love Organics Healthy Locks Dry Shampoo, one of the other hand, scores a 3 out of 10 on Think Dirty for its use of clays, starches, silica and sodium bicarbonate as its drying properties. This product is also scented and I don’t love that the company has chosen not to disclose what the ingredients of that scent are, but the compounds that comprise it are organic. Plus, it smells much better than the Bumble and bumble version!

There it is! My first Better Beauty Swap in ages! Do you enjoy swap posts and would you like to see more? What are some swaps that you’ve made to make your beauty regime cleaner and safer? I’d love to read about them in the comments!
