Hey, kids! During Toronto Fashion Week, I had the privilege of attending Mondor’s runway show. And today I’m coming at you with my thoughts on the brand and the show:

Mondor is a leg wear brand that’s been around since 1955. Headquartered in Montreal, they’ve long produced leg wear for athletes and dancers performing and competing in ballet, ice skating and gymnastics.

But their fashion leg wear is really what I’m interested in, and it is gorgeous. Leggings and tights in fashion are not going away anytime soon. After being absent from our closets for a couple decades, they made a resurgence about 10 years ago. And what began as a trend that many fashion insiders thought would fade has yet to disappear.

Which is a fact that I, as a Canadian fashionista, am supremely happy about. Leggings and tights have the benefit of increasing the amount of wears you can get out of your entire wardrobe. Dresses, skirts and even shorts can now be worn well into the fall and throughout winter, extending our wardrobes. Cherishing pieces no longer have to be relegated to the back of my closet for six months!

Mondor tights in particular are surprisingly affordable for how beautiful they are, ranging between about $9 and $45 USD. If you are in the USA or Canada, you can shop online and get free shipping on orders over $60. If you are anywhere else in the world, there are tons of shops that carry Mondor leg wear. Use the Find a Retailer tool on the website, it’s really handy!

When it comes to their ethics, Mondor definitely does better than your run of the mill leg wear retailer. The pair of footless knee highs that I received in the show gift bag were made in Italy, and they only use faux (vegan) leather in their pieces. They also reneutralize the PH levels in the water they use for their dying process, taking care that their production methods are at the forefront of environmentally friendly innovations.

All in all, it was an amazing show! Thanks so much to Mondor for the opportunity to attend their runway presentation!

Here’s what I wore to the show:

And here’s what my sister Anna (who was helping me out as my assistant) wore. She choose the dress (a sartorial salute to Dr. Who), and I styled the outfit. She really wanted something that showed off her personality, so we eschewed labels in favor of this fun galaxy dress!

Scroll down for some of my favorite looks from the show. Mondor gave one of the ‘see now buy now’ shows, and so all of this leg wear is already available on their website for purchase!
