Holistic Beauty Expo Walking Facial

On Friday, I went to the inaugural Holistic Beauty Expo in Toronto, hosted by Andrea Ashley. I was so happy to attend this one-day event, since to me it felt like the beginning of what could rival the Indie Beauty Expo, but a truly Canadian version. So today I just wanted to chat about the event, the people I met and brands I was able to try, and I’m happy to say that this will become an annual event!

Cotton Blossom Beauty

The coolest part of this event was that it really focused on the holistic aspect of beauty. While other trade and consumer green beauty shows focus more on the brands themselves or on looking good, this expo focused on feeling good. It was for this reason that guests could come to the event makeup-free, which I did (and it was quite an experience).

Body Cherish

One of the reasons for the lack of makeup was the “walking facial”, a really unique feature of the event. Basically, different brands in attendance would set up at the facial station where you could cleanse if needed and then try some of their products! It was a really in-depth way of getting to know the products, and definitely better than just rubbing oils into the back of one’s hand!

Age Quench

There were also speakers throughout the day, such as Oyeta, the founder of Okoko Cosmetiques.

Boosh Lipstick

There was also only a single makeup brand showing at the expo: Boosh Lipstick. Their line of lipsticks (and one lip balm) are crazy moisturizing and made with nourishing, natural ingredients.

Bella Aura Beauty

There were so many other great brands to explore at the expo, so I decided to do a Facebook Live session about it. See it here or head over to my Facebook page to check out all the brand links and info:
